Britney Freaking Spears!

  • Jul. 3rd, 2009 at 7:52 AM

It’s 7.45 in the morning and I would never voluntarily be awake at this hour but I had to wake up an hour ago and frantically rush to my laptop refreshing the Ticketek website over and over again until the clock struck 7AM (9AM in Sydney/Melbourne) and then I proceeded to buy my ticket to the Britney Spears concert happening this November in Melbourne :) :) Three concert dates were announced (11th, 12th and 13th November) and I got one ticket for the 11th November show, yay!

I know I’m a bit loser going myself but for once, I honestly don’t mind! I was debating on whether to get the free standing or reserved seating once and I figured that since I’m alone anyway and would feel quite retarded rocking it out on my own, I’d go for the seating one because I hate free standing areas (the whole other people’s sweat rubbing on you thing kinda grosses me out) and after the sessions timing out on me MORE TIMES THAN I WAS COMFORTABLE WITH, I got my ticket! And I got it in a really good section too (Ticketek assigns at random)! :D

You should’ve seen how fast the free standing area sold out man. And you should’ve seen me panic on Twitter, I think it would be quite entertaining for everyone else (except for me).

Well considering Justin Timberlake sold out in like an hour the last time round, I wasn’t going to take any chances with Miss Britney freaking Spears okay. OMG, Taylor Swift and Britney Spears in the same year, my life is complete, I think I may be able to die happy now.

IT’S GONNA BE LEGEN-WAIT FOR IT-DARY!

How to sleep like this, super adrenaline rush, wooooooo!

PS: Sucks that the Aussie dollar decides to be particularly strong the same time Britney Spears concert tickets come out *ouch*

Penang Road Trip Pt. 3

  • Jul. 2nd, 2009 at 11:30 AM

The next morning we woke up bright and early, packed everything up, checked out of the hotel and headed for breakfast which was noodles and fishball soup. The fishballs were so awesome! So smooth and springy and yummy *drools* I’m not quite sure what exactly we ate, but it’s supposed to be some dry kuay teow thing (click here for more info) but because I don’t like kuay teow (I have a thing against fat noodles, especially the yellow mee, don’t ask) I opted for mee hoon instead.

img_1473

We then decided to do the touristy thing again and visited the Penang Butterfly Farm which was a gajillion miles away, up and down horrible winding mountains and the like. Bleargh. It was all worth it though because the butterfly farm is gorgeous (and this is coming from someone who doesn’t like butterflies!) and very well-maintained. Definitely a must-visit for anyone planning to go to Penang!

Was testing out my camera, and I’m so happy with it. Seriously, so worth the money (and now it’s only like RM800-900 on promotion in Queensbay Mall in Penang, WTF). I’m so amused at how it can sense everything! When it’s a portrait shot, the icon changes to a little man. When I point it at somewhere sunny, a little sun appears. When it’s cloudy, clouds appear! SO CUTE! <3 And the image quality is pretty good for a point-and-shoot as well! :)

img_1474

img_1487

img_1491

As you can probably tell, the butterflies are actually really tame. They let you go really near to get a shot, but they won’t land on you :( I’m sorry that this post is going to be a bit photo heavy, but I got so many nice shots I can’t really decide which not to post so I’m just going to post all my favourites and hopefully there won’t be that many.

That’s about it for the butterfly farm, the remainder photos will be posted on Facebook soon! :) One last post after this and that’ll wrap the entire trip up. It’s amazing how many photos we managed to take for a TWO DAY road trip, hahahaha. Oh well, at least then I can’t complain I have nothing to blog about! :D

Later days!

Penang Road Trip Pt. 2

  • Jun. 30th, 2009 at 1:13 PM

After crashing for awhile in the afternoon, the both of us woke up feeling rather hungry so we went to this food court for mee sotong as recommended by Horny and Suan. It’s located somewhere nearby Fort Cornwallis and the old KDU campus apparently.

12
Sleepy faces!

img_1397

We decided to do the touristy thing again and go to Fort Cornwallis which had a very small entrance fee (RM3 or something like that) which is very well worth it because there are a lot of things in there to see! An old bunker, chapel, cannons, and there’s even five small air-conditioned galleries as well :)

img_1410

Fort Cornwallis is also a really great place to camwhore because it’s very picturesque. I especially love the old chapel; too bad it’s not furnished or anything on the inside (it’s just a blank empty hall). Everything is really well-maintained and in tip-top condition.

img_1424

Later at night we had dinner at this Korean restaurant on Gurney Drive called Seoul Garden which like everything else in Penang, was really cheap compared to any Korean restaurant in KL! I believe it’s very difficult to mess up Korean food especially if you stick with the barbeque grill and staples like bulgogi.

img_1468

img_14611
Oh, the sleepyness! :(

After that we did the romantic thing and walked along the beach at Batu Feringghi in the dark and I bought this gorgeous rose printed maxi dress for only RM35 (dammit, I should’ve bought more!) which I think I will wear today because to be honest I completely forgot about buying it until now :X This happens way too often, heh.

There’s still one more part to come - the butterfly park! Cannot believe how many photos we took in 2 days, so exhausting having to go through them one by one. Anyway, it’s time for lunch at Mizu Bangsar Village with Singz and Ching (yay, friends who are back and not under home quarantine anymore!) so till then!

Penang Road Trip Pt. 1

  • Jun. 28th, 2009 at 10:42 AM

I just came back last night from a mini road trip to Ipoh, Penang and Taiping with the Man Friend and it just involved so much food and so much eating, I feel like I’ve gained 2kg from the past 2 days alone. Today is Japanese buffet lunch at Tenji too which I was supposed to be starving myself for except that kinda went out the window! :(

So we left KL very, very early on Friday morning (if you want to know exactly how early, let’s just say my sister hadn’t even woken up for school yet!) which did not bode very well with me because I barely slept for about 3-4 hours the night before due to, erm, something quite embarrassing. I was playing Guitar Hero alone at home and I reached the Ted Nugent duel stage which is so freaking difficult, I ended up playing 2348279587439 times which then resulted in a minor sprain on my left hand. It was so painful I couldn’t sleep until popping a couple of Panadols and slapping on two Salonpas stickers. Sigh. Epitome of tragicness!

Anyway, we stopped by Ipoh (and we thought of you, Robb!) for some really awesome dim sum because it was breakfast time and the both of us were totally starting to zonk out.

img_1339

Okay, you see these siew mai like things? They are heaven in a mouthful! They’re these small siew mai but with pork only and they are soooo gooood *drools* I wish I could tell you where this dim sum place is, but I can’t because you know, I’m not the food blogger and I’m not very observant so early in the morning either. We’ll wait for KY to blog about it, okay?

img_1341

11
Not exactly looking our best so early in the morning *yawns*

We got to Penang around lunch time and stopped by for some authentic Penang char kuay teow since you know, everyone talks about it and all that. It’s been donkey years since I’ve been to Penang (we’re talking easily more than 10 years here!) so I don’t have any memory of it, or of Penang char kuay teow tasting so damn good. Again, I have absolutely no clue where this is except it’s opposite a Tune Hotel or something like that and again, we will have to wait for KY to blog about it, heh heh.

21

31

Then since we were still early for check-in at our hotel, we KY decided we should stop by one of the parks (heh heh see how terrible I am with names of places?) because you know how I feel about nature, parks and humidity but I was dragged rather reluctantly and I have to admit that it was rather nice and all that if you’re into that kinda thing (which I very obviously am not - too much effort, have to walk everywhere and then wipe feet with anti-bacterial wet wipes after because of grass and mud, ugh).

41

Proceeded to our hotel, Gurney Hotel, after that because we were both moving in zombie mode already. Our hotel was very nice and pretty and would fit Tim’s ideal hotel room description very perfectly!

img_1385

Proceeded to pass out after that, this whole waking up early and doing a lot of things business doesn’t really agree with me very well. I’m a night person. Anyway more to come next - butterfly park visit (where I got lots of pretty photos, I’m so happy with my Canon Ixus 95 IS! Best $350 spent ever!), more food, the Taiping night safari and so on. Later days, people.

51

PS: I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, two legendary icons I grew up with. May their souls rest in peace.

L Is For The Way You Look At Me

  • Jun. 23rd, 2009 at 4:46 PM

I decided to change the theme again because the last one has been up for quite a long time already and I don’t know about you, but I was getting incredibly sick of it. After some heavy customization, I have a new pretty layout which I am slowly falling in love with although it’s taking a bit of time to grow on me, especially the comments page. I was in love with my old comments page, seeing it now (even though it’s supposedly exactly the same) I don’t really love it that much, meh.

I was surfing around yesterday cause I was so booooored, and I came across this link from someone else’s blog. Le Love. It’s nice if you want a serious case of the warm fuzzies :)

It’s always nice to have little reminders that love happens all around us, even though we don’t necessarily notice it :)

Hair Dilemma

  • Jun. 22nd, 2009 at 1:06 PM

I’ve been having a bit of a dilemma the last few days. My extensions have way grown out from when they were first put in in January, and now they’re beginning to look scraggly and are a real bitch to maintain. I want to take them out, but at the same time my natural hair is at a really awkward length right now where it curls out everywhere. And I’ve also gotten used to having really, really long wavy hair, I don’t want it to go away! :(

I’ve been thinking of taking them off and changing my hair colour again to a deep brown, but the length is annoying me and at this length I can’t do anything with it except wait it out. Even styling it is going to be a bitch, plus my hairdresser won’t be able to do anything with it since even trimming it and layering the top will grow out within 2 weeks.

ARGH decisions, decisions.

Also the other thought nagging at the back of my head is that maybe I should take out these old extensions and put back in new ones until the end of the year when hopefully my hair would have grown a bit since then. That warrants another trip to Singapore though, I’m not complaining :D

What do you think?!

Closure

  • Jun. 18th, 2009 at 12:24 PM

It’s been a long, long, long week but yesterday was the cremation and we can all finally rest now that it’s all over and we know Grandma is resting in peace. I think a lot of people were shocked to see us not as grief-stricken as they expected during the wake, but as my Aunty Janet said, Grandma picked her time to go so perfectly well. She didn’t go on the first few days when we were still coming to terms with it, and when we were saying our tearful goodbyes … but she chose to go on the day we were all sitting in her room by her bedside in high spirits, laughing and joking. Grandma wouldn’t have gone until she knew we were all okay and we had all come to terms with her death. And during her wake, Grandma would have wanted us to be celebrating her very full life instead of crying over our loss, but believe me, we are aware of how much we have lost.

After all that, we came home and I immediately took a nice shower and crashed. I was in such a deep sleep that apparently I completely slept through everything else that night because no one could wake me up. It was a cumulative effect after a week of irregular sleeping. Today I woke up bright and early, completely refreshed and revitalized again, yay!

Thank you all for the warm wishes, the condolence messages and the e-mails. I haven’t had the energy to go through all of them yet, but I eventually will. My e-mail inbox is in such a dreadful state with about 20-30 unanswered e-mails, and I’ve got so many Facebook wallposts, messages and comments to reply to. Thank you all, so, so much :)

Datuk Datin Paduka Ruby Lee

  • Jun. 15th, 2009 at 6:05 PM

For those of you who haven’t been following my Twitter, my grandmother, Datuk Datin Paduka Ruby Lee, passed away very, very peacefully yesterday evening with her family by her side :)

The wake will be held today and tomorrow from 10am-10pm at Nirvana Memorial Center, with a special service at 8pm tomorrow (16th June). The funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral, the church she got married in, on Wednesday morning at 11am.

For more information, please click here.

Thank you for your kind wishes. Please note that the family is not accepting flowers/wreaths, and that instead a donation should be made to one of my grandmother’s charities (more information in the link above).

We kindly hope members of the media respect our privacy at this difficult time.

Grandma Is A Fighter

  • Jun. 13th, 2009 at 11:16 PM

Been MIA for awhile because on Wednesday, we found out that there was nothing much the hospital could do for my grandmother anymore so we brought her home. On Thursday we were all preparing to say our final goodbyes because the doctor advised that it could be a matter of hours - except now it’s Saturday night, going to be Sunday in a bit and she’s still with us! Pulse rate is strong, her hands and feet which were initially cold have suddenly regained warmth too. Gave us all quite a surprise!

So I’ve been staying here along with the family for the past 2 days. I’ve forgotten how a bed feels like already and I’m so sleep-deprived I’ve gotten used to it, and forgot how it feels to be properly awake too :P

Thanks for all the well wishes on Twitter/Facebook, really appreciate them :) :) If you want status updates on how she’s doing, you can read the blog my aunty set up for her over here.

I will still be MIA for the next couple of days, depending on the situation. I’m still updating my Twitter account regularly though so check it out since I probably won’t be updating here as frequent. This is also a shameless plug because after weeks of leading over KY in our Twitter followers competition, he is now beating me by like, 30 followers. Heeeellppppp.

Been Busy

  • Jun. 7th, 2009 at 3:26 PM

I’ve been crazy busy lately, haven’t really had the time to sit down and blog and even now I’m just doing a really rushed one. I haven’t made any progress at all with my two essays due on Tuesday (okay, maybe 10%?) and I’m starting to get a little bit panicked about that. I always work better under pressure anyway. I’m sitting at Old Town @ BU8 now with KY, trying to attempt to get everything done, wargghhh.

Friday night was the Nokia N97 launch at Mandarin Oriental, spiffy phone but I’ve never been a Nokia fan anyway, their phones are too complicated for me. The N97 looks awesomely cool though. Last night was the Nuffnang Tiger Stand Out Party which was okay, but I had this massive migraine for the entire night. Like when I say massive, I mean terrible, horrible, wanted to curl up in a ball and die. I’ve never had such a bad migraine before, I couldn’t even move my head because it just hurt too much. Panadol Actifast cured it though, what would I do without them drugs? :D

More about everything later, priorities, essay writing first! Ta! <3

This One Is For The Ladies

  • Jun. 3rd, 2009 at 1:21 PM

Girls will never tell you what they think or what they want because somehow you are supposed to be intuitive enough (like another woman) to guess by picking up subtle hints dropped here and there or to already know. There is no winning this one because no matter what you do, there’s something else you should’ve done before that, or there’s always going to be something you didn’t do or haven’t done.

Why won’t we just come right out and say it? It’s so simple we curse you guys for not realizing this earlier. Here’s when the whole rigmarole begins. Women are by nature emotional, irrational beings. We don’t really care much for sense and logic, and all those other nasty things that guide men. What we want and what we need don’t necessarily have to make much sense or be very rational. We know it, and we admit it, but that doesn’t mean we want it any less.

We can’t come right out and say straight out what we want you to stop doing or what is bothering us because we know that by patriarchal standards, what we want will be deemed irrational/psychotic/emotional/unattainable. Men will dissect what we want to its core. They will chop it into a million pieces, pop it under a microscope and proceed to label each piece with scientific names pulled out from their asses. That’s just how men are.

Men will never understand why women want what they want because they can’t convert it into numbers, draw up a formula and resolve it. We know that you’ll do it for us anyway to keep us quiet and make us happy, but we know that deep inside you don’t understand it, and our biggest, biggest fear is that maybe you’ll start resenting us for making you do it in the first place (Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII anyone?). Women will never tell men what they want because they can’t explain why they have that irrational need for it.

Centuries on maybe we’ve learned to make it work in our favour more so than our earlier sisters with some wacky, delusional forms of mind play, compromise, tolerance and forgiveness.

How does Cosmopolitan make it look and seem so easy?

Forgive me, I’m in a bit of a Carrie Sex and the City writing mood. Getting geared up to start my Sexual Politics essay and all that, you know. Yay women, yay women’s rights, yay feminism, yay political lesbianism, yay to saying no to the erotification and over sexualization of women’s bodies in the media industry.

I think I’m slowly going mad.

Counting 5-4-3-2-1

  • Jun. 2nd, 2009 at 12:07 AM

There’s actually a lot of things I want to blog about, but I just feel incredibly drained. I’m fighting off a very annoying sore throat, trying to self-medicate here because I literally JUST finished a course of TWO types of antibiotics and am trying to spare my body another round of that. I somehow managed to semi-convince myself that I may have swine flu all over again because I have three of the symptoms listed and I just came back from Melbourne, which has now been hit by a massive bout of swine flu! I’m still insisting on eating ice cream though because it numbs my throat. The feeling is the awesomenesss. Yummss.

I have also discovered that I am severely allergic to dust which is a very bad thing because my man friend’s house is extremely dusty, especially his room, as there’s a bit of construction going on right opposite. I couldn’t take it anymore yesterday, and proceeded to diligently wipe away every speck of dust I could find and throw away all the junk he has accumulated over the years in all his cupboards, tables and shelves. Step two involves mopping the floor including under the bed and clearing out the wardrobe too.

In the process of doing so, I injured my right tendon by lunging too far to reach the damn shelf (which I never even realized existed until yesterday) and somehow managed to twist my left hip too. I bet my sore throat is because I inhaled too much dust as well!

I AM FALLING APART, GUYS -_-”

I’m just about done with one of my assignments, off to post it tomorrow and get started on the other three, one by one. 4500 words collectively due on the 9th of June, 2000 word research methodology due on the 11th of June. I think it’s time I draw up a schedule else you’re going to see me have a nervous breakdown by the end of the week.

I didn’t realize how much I’d miss Melbourne until I’m back. I miss my friends a lot more than anything though. Faster be done with exams and come home soon please, guys :(

Krabi - In A Nutshell

  • May. 29th, 2009 at 5:09 PM

It feels like I’ve been back in KL for ages now although in reality I’ve only been back for exactly a week. I’m quite exhausted, and I’m still procrastinating on getting my assignments done so this weekend is going to involve a lot of screeching and panicking and hurriedly typing whatever nonsense pops into my head first.

Yesterday it felt like we were traveling the whole day because technically we were. Woke up super early for breakfast (I do not want to talk about the match please, thank you) after sleeping pretty late, took a super long drive to the airport (I hate how all the five star hotels are located in the middle of nowhere), landed back in KL at around 3pm, and then took another long drive back home from LCCT, so really, we only came back at around 4pm when we started traveling at 9am!

img_1106
KY and Suanie looking very happy - finally arrived at the hotel!

Anyway, Krabi was awesome, for the very little that I saw of it at least. I do not recommend you stay at one of those swanky hotels like Sheraton Krabi because they are JUST TOO FAR FROM CIVILIZATION and you normally want to experience authentic (cheap) Thai food and such so you’ll need to stay in Ao Nang town or Krabi town itself. A taxi from Sheraton Krabi to Ao Nang cost THB700 (return) which is just very meh to have to keep paying everyday. There are tons of nice hotels in Ao Nang, go stay there instead!

This little crab was nice enough to stay still for me to quickly take a photo of. Isn’t he the cutest? Look at his little eyes! Makes me feel like eating Kampung Jawa crabs again, nom nom nom.

crab

The beach isn’t that great though. It’s clean enough but I’m a fan of white sand beaches with crystal clear water, and this one was just okay. Of course, the obligatory your-name-in-sand photo had to be taken.

mellissa

Our hotel was just filled with trees and bushes and grass and other green things. I don’t know what’s the point of having such a big garden when you make your guests walk freaking far to go anywhere! At least let them walk through the garden and not around it -_-” I’m not a greenery fan, or a fan of insects such as those pesky mosquitoes and pointless butterflies, so I guess I don’t understand. Yay to concrete jungles!

sheraton

The hotel food was quite tragic, I can’t quite decide what type of cuisine it was but it wasn’t that bad, but when you compare it to Thailand’s street food, it just pales in comparison. It was free though, so can’t complain much, and of course, there’s nothing like a cold glass of Heineken to get you through the hot and humid weather!

img_1109
With KY, super hungry, nom nom nom!

img_1113
I should’ve stolen the glass, dammit!

But other than that, it was good to get away from KL for a little bit. Too bad it rained for 2 out of the 3 days we were there, so no tan here, boo hoo. Time to get to work on those pesky essays so at least I’ll feel like I’m on holiday again, heh. Later days!

  • May. 27th, 2009 at 2:44 PM

IT WON’T STOP RAINING!!!!!

Which is fine with me anyway because 10 minutes of kayaking yesterday was enough to prove that my absolute dislike for any outdoors activities of any kind was still, well, existent. I’m totally not an outdoors person although I can probably suck it up and do it if I wanted to, although I firmly believe that nature doesn’t like me so I probably shouldn’t push my luck anyway.

BUT I CANNOT SUNBATHE! SO TRAGIC!

And everywhere we walk we have to use Sheraton’s bright orange umbrellas, hee hee.

Hotel food really sucks, just discovered street food outside the hotel which is like only around 30 baht a bowl (RM3), but then again the hotel food ain’t too pricey either, can compare to prices at Delicious but THE FOOOD SUCKSSSSS. Bleargh.

Okay! Going to Krabi town in a bit, will be back in KL tomorrow, yay!

Another Aeroplane, Another Sunny Place

  • May. 22nd, 2009 at 11:02 AM

Being back in KL really is quite bittersweet. It’s awesome to be around my family again, as well as see all my friends who are still back here, and of course, my man friend too :) It’s also really great to chase my cats up and down, all around my house, although the thrill has died off for them and now they just look at me blankly as if I’ve been there for yonks already. Butterscotch finally acknowledged my presence last night instead of running off in the opposite direction whenever she saw me. HOPELESS CATS.

butty1
wandygarfy

But I really, really do miss all my friends in Melbourne. It feels a bit lonely to be back here when my parents are working, Maxine is in school, KY is working, everyone else is working too or in school … and I really only have Nigel for company -_-” Nothing beats having your girlfriends around to go do your nails/hair together, or for some good retail therapy followed by tea @ Delicious, like always. Oh well, Ching will be back soon :)

My plane landed a whole 45 minutes ahead of schedule. On my ticket it says my ETA was at 6.30am, so that’s what I told KY since he was picking me up from the airport. I nodded off to sleep for almost the entire flight, and when I woke up again, it was 8 minutes to arrival at KLIA with the ETA at 5.45am. I don’t know how it worked out to be so much faster, but the plane was half empty and it was so good being able to stretch out to sleep. I’m only want to be traveling off-peak now! :D

Came home, took a shower, headed out for breakfast at the famous char kueh teow place near my house, bummed around a bit, did the whole OSIM uSqueez thing three times in a row while waiting for him to finish blogging (with Malaysian internet, apparently it’s a very slow process) and dying with hunger in the process. Headed out for seafood noodle for lunch, hurried to buy Robb’s birthday cake, hurried all the way back to the Nuffnang office, stood outside the office with all the candles lit and I left out a huge sigh of relief since we managed to get there on time … which led to me blowing out ALL the candles so KY had to light them all over again :X

Surprised Robb with the birthday cake, bummed around some more there, went to our favourite mall in the world, Tropicana City Mall, (right after Bangsar Village II, okay, but now that Colour Culture, my manicure place, has opened there too it’s a tough one!) and ate some more AGAIN, warghhhh. I nearly passed out at Starbucks last night because I was so tired, but today, I’m up at 10am because I’m still on Melbourne time and I can’t sleep past 12pm. Agggghhhhh!

Sorry this is a pretty rushed blog post because now I need to go quickly take a shower or else I’m gonna be late for lunch with KY + Nuffies at Shanghai Ten later. Ta! <3

Ah, I’m Going Home!

  • May. 20th, 2009 at 12:30 PM

This is another scheduled post because tomorrow I’m just going to be in class the whole day and running around the city too much to bother to blog :)

I’m leaving Melbourne tonight (Wednesday night) for two months, and it feels a bit weird. I’m going to miss the city so much, and of course, I’m going to miss my friends too since all of them are only going to be back in a month, but oh well, I’m quite excited about finally going back to KL again even though it has only been about 3 months since I left.

I’ll be landing Thursday early, early, early morning, and KY will be picking me up since he took the day off work to spend time with me anyway <3

See you real soon in KL, party people!

The Cuchini!

  • May. 15th, 2009 at 10:22 AM

We bust our internet cap again this month so right now my internet speed is slower than a mofo (when I’m in this kind of mood, everything will be compared to with a ‘mofo’ which is, I’m not exactly sure what, but just nod your head, pretend to understand and smile please). I’m typing this now in Text Edit again because Wordpress is taking a million and one years to load. I can’t believe I’ve put up with this for three days already, TWELVE MORE HOURS TO GO, YES, THANK YOU GOD.

If you’re wondering why I’m on iloveim all the time, it’s because my internet is so slow Adium won’t connect to MSN Messenger. It’s that sad.

Let me introduce you to something quite interesting I found on the internet. We all know what camel toes are right? That awkward position you’re in when you’re wearing leggings as pants (THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN, PEOPLE!) or when your pants/shorts are so tight they look like they’re eating your crotch. Here’s what Wiki says:

Cameltoe is a slang term that refers to the outline of the female labia majora when seen through tight form-fitting clothes. Cameltoe commonly occurs as a result of wearing tight fitting clothes, such as jeans, shorts, hotpants, or swimwear [SOURCE].

No photos here not only because my internet connection is slow, but because it’s just too disturbing for my eyes. You want photos, go see this!

So apparently some company decided to be smart and invent what is known of today as The Cuchini Pad, something I’m not quite sure whether or not I should be disturbed about.

The Cuchini is a comfortable, light-weight material that adheres to any undergarment (panties, bikini, sports attire, etc). It smoothes the ridges of a woman’s mons pubis area providing a smooth and camouflaged appearance. This eliminates what is commonly known as “Camel Toe.” The Cuchini products are designed by women to provide comfort and convenience. As we have evolved, hair down there is a thing of the past. As the landing strip and Brazilian wax have become prominent in today’s world, there is no bush for the cush. And though Camel Toe may be a hot topic… it’s not to the gal sporting it!

I love that phrase: ‘there is no bush for the cush’ HAHAHA. Oh well. The Cuchini retails for USD$15.95, not exactly cheap.

The things people come up with *shakes head*

Living On A Prayer

  • May. 13th, 2009 at 12:23 PM

I recently added Sitemeter to my blog (look down, to the right) because relying on Nuffnang’s user stats wasn’t enough, and now I’ve become obsessed with it! :D Although since it’s only 2 days old, it isn’t accurately picking up my stats yet, but it’s getting quite addictive to watch the numbers increase and the World Map is so fascinating, I feel like some technologically backward freak, hee hee. I got so excited that day because I saw one green dot from SOUTH AFRICA (!!!) but now it’s just back to green dots in Australia and Malaysia, poooh, but I’ve got one visitor from Thailand! HELLO! SAWADEEKAP! :D

I’m so excitable, really, even the smallest things can get me going.

So since I felt so awesome and mighty with Sitemeter, I decided to go through all my previous blog posts and add tags to them one by one. It was extremely fun until I reached like the 40th post, and then I started to want to die quickly. But now I feel so L337 and shit, cause you know, I’m totally down with this tag business, yo yo yo. Party posts are a bitch because there are just too many people to tag X_X

I got this assignment back today, and my lecturer wrote on it “Good piece of work, you really connected and engaged carefully with the readings” except I kinda didn’t do the readings, just picked out random quotes to paraphrase and slip it in, so I’m a bit confused by that but oh well, I got a good grade on it considering I didn’t know what in the world I was doing (Zehan! This is the zoo report!) so yay to me and my master bullshitting skills ;)

Off to watch the latest Gossip Girl now, haven’t the last few episodes been the BEST ever?! :D (Although I want to kill Dan and Vanessa, I think they’re righteous, and righteous people should all be locked up in a hole somewhere far, far away. With birds. And possibly spiders too).

Pulau Ketam Dog Rescue Mission

  • May. 11th, 2009 at 8:08 PM

I’ve been seeing this Pulau Ketam Dog Rescue Mission on blogs, on Twitter, on forums, basically everywhere lately. I knew it was something bad, but I didn’t want to read more about it because I’m the type of person to get emotionally involved when it comes to animals, and I will end up crying and swearing, and cursing heaps of bird droppings on human heads, but this seems to be quite bad so I let my inner man come out, toughened up, and read the story.

3521043101_67628bf9b2

The residents of Pulau Ketam sent some 300 stray dogs to exile on a remote island where the harsh conditions almost certainly guarantee a horrible death. Of the 300 dogs sent there, more than three-quarters are presumed to be already dead. Click here to read the full story.

I don’t understand how human beings can be so cruel. We all know stray dogs are a big problem in Malaysia, but sending them off to an island to live in exile, forced to kill each other to survive .. that’s just heartbreaking, and that can’t be human.

Please, please, please don’t let anymore dogs suffer the same faith. They didn’t do anything wrong, nothing at all to deserve this. I suppose that’s the problem with animal cruelty cases - animals NEVER, EVER deserve cruelty of any kind. I’m going to send my donation over after I finish this blog post. I know a lot of people reading my blog can spare the RM20 they spend at Starbucks, or the AUD$20 or even less that they spend on cocktails for a good cause. Will you?

It’s Mellissa Time!

  • May. 8th, 2009 at 11:59 AM

I just came back from all-you-can-eat dim sum (it’s called yum cha here in Melbourne, I don’t know why) at Dragon Boat with Marc and Jia Liang, and I’m so uber stuffed right now. I’m also wearing my jacket AND scarf indoors because it’s so cold. I really don’t mind a heated keyboard right now. I actually for once have a lot of things to blog about, but I don’t feel like blogging about any of them right now. I just feel like camwhoring so here we go, this is a picture post :D

melly1
This is me, not very happy about the cold weather but kinda happy too cause wearing a jacket finishes my outfit

melly2

And this is me thinking HOLY COW 9000 WORDS STILL NOT YET STARTED!

melly3

This is the “I’m really sleepy after sleeping 10 hours straight” face

Apparently I thought my camera wasn’t already pink and bimbo enough so I decided to further bimbo-fy it by attaching my old hot pink Gucci phone strap to it since I’m feeling very tulan about how both my iPhone AND my Blackberry have nothing to hang a phone strap on.

melly4

Then Singz insisted my camera was just too pink for words (she doesn’t do pink, right Singz? :P) so she wouldn’t let me buy another pink/red protective case for it so instead I bought a black case from Crumpler which really isn’t me at all. I don’t even use my Crumpler bag for god’s sake. Wargghh.

melly5

And finally, to cap off this incredibly Mellissa centered blog entry, here’s one last shot of my nails because I’m very proud of them. I did them myself okay. I’m very, very, very anal about having the polish on my hands match the polish on my feet. Mani +pedi sets in Melbourne cost at least AUD$80, and I just cannot/refuse to justify spending RM240 doing my nails, so I just had to learn to do them myself. Let’s just say the first few tries were disastrous, especially with my OCD-ness in making sure everything was straight and even.

melly6

It suddenly got too hot in my room with the heater on so the jacket had to go :X

Observant people would notice the autographed photo of Taylor Swift hanging on the wall behind me, heh! ;)

Have to run out for coffee now, have a good weekend!
